In October 2020, All Classical Portland brought the RADIO DRAMA back to the airwaves!
In collaboration with Broadway Rose Theatre Company, All Classical
Portland presented Sherlock Holmes & The West End Horror, a radio drama pairing an exhilarating murder mystery with curated
classical music bringing the intrigue to life. This clever, witty adventure in two parts was broadcast on October 30th and 31st,
2020, locally on 89.9 FM and HD radio and worldwide via online stream at
allclassical.org.
Abrar Haque has been featured in the Daisy Duke Short Plays at Portland's Fertile Grounds Festival, A Clockwork Orange at Bag&Baggage Productions, and in UC Berkeleyâs Mainstage Production of The House of the Spirits as Esteban Trueba in Spring 2019. Abrar currently works as a Marketing Analyst at Intel Corporation. His favorite hobbies include exercise, reading plays, and turning his crippling insecurity into self-deprecating humor. He also enjoys basketball (Go Blazers!), the outdoors, and cats, and holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
Alec Cameron Lugo is a Portland-based actor, singer, graphic artist, and marketing manager making his radio debut with Sherlock Holmes & The West End Horror. A 2016 graduate of Pacific University, stage credits include productions with Northwest Childrenâs Theatre (Seussical The Musical, Mary Poppins), Oregon Childrenâs Theatre (The Legend of Rock, Paper, Scissors!), Broadway Rose Theatre Company (Into The Woods), Anonymous Theatre Company (A Midsummer Nightâs Dream, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), and Fuse Theatre Ensemble (Under The Influence, Cabaret), among others. Television credits include the Emmy-nominated Documentary Now! episode, âOriginal Cast Album: Co-opâ (IFC). His design work has been featured both locally and regionally. Edmund Stone grew up on a rural farm in England with a deep love of Shakespeare, poetry, film, acting, gardens and animals. He started his career in broadcasting in 1975, later joining the BBC. He created The Score in 2006, a nationally syndicated show on film music that he writes, hosts and produces.
Jennifer Rutland is delighted to join the cast of Sherlock Holmes with Broadway Rose Theatre and All Classical Portland. Favorite past roles on the stage include Lucille Frank in Parade, Magnolia Hawkes in Showboat, Rosa Budd in The Mystery of Edwin Drood, and Hope Cladwell in Urinetown. Comfortable in both musical theater and classical repertoire, Jennifer has performed with Portland Opera, Opera Theater Oregon, Pixie Dust Productions, Portland State Opera, and Anna's Bay Center or Music. Jennifer is a private voice instructor and an active member of the local NATS chapter. She received her Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from Portland State University and her Bachelor of Arts in Music from George Fox University.
Joe Theissen is honored to join the cast of Sherlock Holmes & The West End Horror with Broadway Rose Theatre and All Classical Portland! In addition to his many roles at BRTC, Joe has worked with the Lakewood Theatre Company, Pixiedust Productions, Oregon Childrenâs Theatre, and the Portland Parks Theatre Program, among others. Joeâs credits include: Nathan Detroit in Guys & Dolls, Narrator in Broadway Roseâs Northwest premiere of Fly By Night (2017 Drammy Award), Gomez Ă ddams in The Addams Family, and various roles in Up and Away! at Broadway Rose. Joe has been a soloist with the Trinity Consort and a studio vocalist with Pink Martini and OCP Recordings. Joe holds a B.A. in Music Theory & Composition from Linfield College, and a M.A. in Teaching Theatre & English from Concordia University.
Kevin-Michael Moore has been performing regionally for nearly forty years. He was last seen at Broadway Rose in Trails and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. He has been a mainstay at The Northwest Childrenâs Theater for the last fifteen years, and has performed in over thirty shows. Last season he performed as Miss Trunchbull in Matilda receiving a Drammy nomination for Best Actor and How I Became a Pirate, winning the Drammy for Best Supporting Actor. Kevin-Michael has toured nationally, writing and performing for the 3rd Floor sketch comedy troupe, and can be seen in numerous television shows and films, including Wild, First Cow, Timmy Failure and soon to be available, Pig.
Mike Dederian has appeared with Broadway Rose in A Funny Thing... Forum (Senex), Guys and Dolls (Lt. Brannigan), Whodunit... The Musical (Jarvis), and My Fair Lady (Jamie). He has also appeared locally in Singin' in the Rain (R.F. Simpson) and South Pacific (Emile) with Lakewood Theater Company; The Tempest (Propsero) and Henry IV pt. 1 (Douglas) with Portland Actors Ensemble, and most recently as John Henry, Duke of Rutland, in the Portland Revels. Elsewhere, his roles have included Robin Oakapple (Ruddigore), Dexter (High Society), Zach (A Chorus Line), Arthur (Camelot), and Tateh (Ragtime). Mike is a graduate of Harvey Mudd College and an internationally produced playwright (one play, two countries, it counts).
Tom Slater is excited to once again be under the auspicious employ of the Broadway Rose Theater. After spending several years in New York City, where he appeared in the National Tour of The Producers, among other productions, he is most glad to be back home in the Pacific Northwest. Tom has appeared in many of Broadway Roseâs past productions, including The Music Man, The Drowsy Chaperone, My Fair Lady, and Whodunit: The Musical. He has also spent some time in front of the microphone, lending his voice to multiple commercials, digital animations, and even blockbuster video games like Red Dead Redemption 2.
